Sweden is set to host one of the two world events of the FIA Karting season at the Kristianstad circuit for the third time. Just like five years ago, the FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, the FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 and the final FIA Karting Academy Trophy competition will be held on the 1221m Åsum Ring from 3rd to 5th September 2021. Three FIA Karting titles will be awarded after three days of hard racing.

Their 2020 Motor Sports Development plan was developed with two principal objectives in mind – to continue the development of a karting championship and to promote driver training at the grassroots level.

Initially scheduled to take place in Brazil, the FIA Karting World Championship - OK & Junior has been rescheduled very early in the season in Portugal to cope with the difficulties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. 177 Drivers are committed to participating in the last and probably most exciting Competition of the season at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve from 5th to 8th November 2020.
