Earlier this year, the Union of the Bulgarian Automobilists (UAB) was awarded the Annual Prize for Road Safety in Social Organisations Category distributed by the Bulgarian Foundation for successful road safety campaigns, and #3500LIVES in particular.

The ceremony took place in Sofia with the participation of the Vice-President, national Ministers and Members of the Parliament, sponsors and other officials and with Bulgarian Foundation President Vladimir Todorov presenting the award to UAB President Emil Panchev.

With government and community stakeholders in attendance, the event was largely covered by the national media.

The Bulgarian Club received the prize for the outstanding promotion of the FIA #3500LIVES campaign in Bulgaria and for 60 successful years working in favour of road safety.

The Foundation’s Annual rewards for Road Safety are given for several categories - social organisations, official authorities, schools, safety institutions, traffic policemen, etc.

UAB won the first place as non-governmental organisation.
