The inaugural meeting of the FIA’s Environment and Sustainability Commission took place in Geneva today. The Commission marks a new step forward in the improvement of environmental sustainability across motoring and motor sport.

During the Geneva Motorshow, the FIA presented its new programme: “The European Young Women Programme”, in the presence of Jean Todt, President of the FIA and Michèle Mouton, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission.

The FIA is this year again prominently represented at the renowned Geneva Motor Show, which tomorrow (6March) will open its doors for the 88th time to welcome members of the press before the show opens to the public from Thursday 8 to Sunday 18 March.

This week, FIA President Jean Todt, who also serves as the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, visited Kenya and Uganda to promote road safety in support of the local authorities and FIA clubs.

Yves Matton has been appointed FIA Rally Director and will take up his position at the Federation’s Geneva offices on 7 February 2018. Matton replaces Jarmo Mahonen who retired at the end of 2017.
