After the rain at Scrutineering yesterday, the weather for the first day of action on the Lahti Historic Rally was warm and sunny, with the thermometer climbing to 23 degrees in the afternoon.

The Lahti Historic Rally in Finland will be the host event for Round 5 of the 2021 European Historic Rally Championship. The Lahti Historic Rally is the only gravel rally on this year’s schedule and invokes the spirit of the legendary 1000 Lakes Rally.

Round 5 of the 2021 FIA European Historic Rally Championship will be held in Finland with the host city of Lahti providing the only gravel event on the calendar. The gravel tracks through the Finnish forests, surrounded by freshwater lakes, provide the competitors with one of the most demanding challenges on any rally in the world.

The no104 Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 of Daniel Alonso Villaron and Candido Carrera Estevez finished the second day at the head of the Rallye Weiz leader board to extend their championship lead in Category 4.

The opening day of the Rallye Weiz saw six special stages run in the Styrian hills around the city of Weiz which saw Daniel Alonso and Candido Carrera finish the day at the top of the leader board.

After making its debut on the calendar in 2019, the Rallye Weiz in Austria returns to host Round 4 of the 2021 FIA European Historic rally Championship on the 15-17 July.

The Rallye Weiz in Austria has attracted 24 entries, where 18 EHRC crews will compete for points in Round 4 of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship from 10 different nations across Europe. The event, which made its debut on the FIA EHRC calendar in 2019, is based in the Styrian city of Weiz and runs from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 July.

After leading overnight, the Italian crew of the no3 Audi quattro, ‘Zippo’ and Denis Piceno held onto the top spot during the nine special stages on the second leg of the 54th Mecsek Rally to take their second overall victory of the 2021 FIA European Historic Rally Championship.

The no3 Audi quattro of ‘Zippo’ and Denis Piceno made a great start to the 54th Mecsek Rally, finishing the first leg 33 seconds ahead of the no2 Porsche 911 of Karl Wagner and Gerda Zauner.

The 54th Mecsek Rallye in Hungary will be the host event for Round 3 of the 2021 FIA European Historic Rally Championship on 24-26 June. The Mecsek Rallye takes place in southern Hungary in the city of Pecs, 200km from the Hungarian capital Budapest. The rally will feature over 155km of special stages over two days with Leg 1 on Friday 25 June and Leg 2 on Saturday 26 June.
