In light of the current COVID-19 crisis and its direct consequences, the 2020 edition of the FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship has been cancelled. The Historic Motor Sport Commission (HMSC) and all associated organizers will move their focus to 2021. In its next meeting, the HMSC will aim to confirm a 2021 calendar comprising all the events that were due to be part of the 2020 FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship.

Following the postponement or cancellation of all but two of the nine rounds of the 2020 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship (EHSRC) due to the global Covid19 pandemic, the FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved a revised five round 2020 championship beginning in Austria in September and concluding in Spain at the end of November.

The 68 Rally Costa Brava, Spain’s oldest and most important rally for classic cars, will, once again, be the host for the opening round of the 2020 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship on the 13/14 March.

The 2020 championship will feature nine events in seven European countries. Some are well established events on the EHSRC calendar, with two, the 35th Sanremo Rally Storico in Italy and the Rallye International du Valais in Switzerland, making a welcome addition to the schedule. The season gets underway in just over one week’s time with the Rally Costa Brava on the 13-14 March.

With just two weeks before the first round of the 2020 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship, the Rally Costa Brava in Spain, the first edition of the season entry list has been revealed. The 2020 list has 35 entries so far, with all four 2019 champions returning to defend their titles. As entries remain open until the end of June, more applications are expected and, in total, will be more than in 2019.
