2018’s champions are racing into Russia for the glittering FIA Prize Giving at the Philharmonia

The Pioneering and Innovation Award sponsored by Mahindra Racing has been handed to the FIA at the 2018 Autosport Awards for implementing the halo cockpit protection safety system.

The FIA Annual General Assembly got underway today in the magnificent city of Saint Petersburg. Taking place for the first time in Russia, the Assembly is being hosted by the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF).

Last night at the Auto Bild Motor Sport Race Night 2018, FIA President Jean Todt received the honour of the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to motor sport, and to mobility and safety.

Jean Todt, President of the FIA and Jean-Charles Decaux, Chairman of the Executive Board and Co-CEO of JCDecaux, have renewed their road safety partnership – #3500LIVES – for the third year running. This global campaign was launched in 2017 to reduce road crashes, which cause 3,500 deaths every day around the world.

On 18 November, the FIA community supported the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) on the theme “Roads Have Stories”.
