On October 3, the Automobile Club of Ecuador ANETA and the National Assembly of Ecuador hosted the Road Safety and Crash Prevention Day at the Assembly’s premises in Quito, Ecuador.

The event, inaugurated by Assembly’s Member Elizabeth Cabezas, Chairman of the Occasional Specialized Commission for Traffic and Road Safety, aimed to promote road safety and create awareness regarding traffic rules among young people.

During the event, students aged 6 to 17 from a variety of educational institutions had the opportunity to participate in the ANETA Mobile Road Unit Program, which provided them with road safety theory and training.

The Mobile Road Unit is in the form of a van fitted with the latest technology, including a lift for the disabled. Inside there is a classroom, where children and young people can receive lessons that they can then put in practice, as drivers or pedestrians, on the 400m2 road safety circuit outside.

At the end of the day, participants received a diploma acknowledging the training received, as well as road safety communications material.
