Nine FIA-certified championships represented as inaugural FIA Formula 4 World Cup entry list announced
Nine Formula 4 championships certified by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile will be represented when Macau hosts the inaugural FIA Formula 4 World Cup from 13-16 November

A capacity 20-car entry is made up of drivers competing in national Formula 4 (F4) championships across the globe that have been given the opportunity to take part in the iconic street racing showpiece as they continue to build their experience behind the wheel.
It follows a selection process carried out by the FIA, the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide. This process took into account individual performances in rounds of national F4 championship during 2025 or submissions sent to the FIA.
The line-up of drivers was announced during the revealing of the provisional entry list for the FIA F4 World Cup today (13 October) by the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee in partnership with the FIA and FIA Member Club Automobile General Association Macao-China.
It includes the British, Central European Zone, French and Italian F4 champions of 2025, Fionn McLaughlin, Gino Trappa, Alexandre Munoz and Kean Nakamura-Berta. Emanuele Olivieri became the first F4 title winner of this season after he secured the Middle East F4 crown back in February, while Shimo Zhang beat Kimi Yu Tsai Chan to the Chinese F4 Championship crown.
Ahead of the penultimate round of the Japanese F4 Championship at Autopolis from 18-19 October, Itsuki Sato is the driver to beat.
Jules Roussel, Rayan Caretti and Rintaro Sato – son of 2001 Macau Grand Prix winner Takuma Sato – have all impressed in French F4 in 2025. Ethan Nobels is a frontrunner in Brazilian F4. Thomas Bearman, Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman’s younger brother, competes in British F4. American Sebastian Wheldon has impressed in Italian F4.
Macau drivers Man Hei Cheong and Tiago Golovko Rodrigues have experience from the Chinese and Middle East F4 championships respectively, while China’s Yuzhe Wang has competed in both series.
Aryaman Bansal is a single-seater title winner in the UK and will be the youngest on the F4 World Cup grid, turning 16 the week before Macau. Kyoho Lee from South Korea won the FIA OKN World Cup in 2024. British-New Zealander Emily Cotty has built experience in Italian and Middle East F4.
With technical and operational support provided by Mintimes, the organiser of the Chinese F4 Championship, in association the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA) and Ligier, the ultimate level playing field has been created. This will allow these young talents to be fully focused on demonstrating their potential on Macau’s 6.120-kilometre Guia Circuit, ranked as one of the world’s most challenging FIA-homologated racing tracks.
As the entry level of the FIA’s pathway to the top levels of motor sport, the FIA F4 World Cup provides the chance for young drivers to compete for a major international single-seater trophy for the first time. It also shines the spotlight on motor sport participation with four continents represented.
The FIA F4 World Cup’s inclusion on the Macau Grand Prix timetable is part of a long-standing and close collaboration with the Automobile General Association Macao-China and Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee.
It will be contested over a Qualification Race of eight laps and the 10-lap Main Race. Drivers get two practice sessions and a single qualifying session. All drivers compete in Mygale FIA F4 chassis equipped with Alpine-built engines.
The FIA F4 World Cup will be streamed live free of charge via the FIA’s official YouTube channel. It’s one of four FIA-sanctioned competitions taking place during the 72nd Macau Grand Prix week along with the FIA Formula Regional World Cup, the FIA GT World Cup and the Kumho Tire FIA TCR World Tour.
