The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, has today confirmed that Pirelli will become the single tyre supplier for those Formula Regional Championships, certified by FIA that will introduce the next generation of car from 2026. As the remaining championships introduce the new car in the following season, they will likewise move to Pirelli as the official tyre supplier.
Pirelli, also the global tyre partner of FIA Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 championships, will supply 15-inch tyres as part of the package of updates coming in the second generation for Formula Regional which beings in 2026. These new, high-performance tyres are purpose-built for the demands of the category and will support greater technical relevance, enhanced racing spectacle, and consistent standards across the five regional championships, reinforcing Formula Regional’s role as a key step on the FIA single-seater pathway.
This landmark update was unveiled today in Macau by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem during a press conference held alongside the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee and the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC), ahead of the FIA General Assembly in the region this week.
