Each year, the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards give public recognition to the most outstanding international road safety initiatives. The awards recognise achievement and innovation that improve road safety. The 2018 edition saw the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety being honoured in the Road Safety Management category for its action to promote key safety messages and actions globally.

When receiving the award from HRH Prince Michael of Kent, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism Andrew McKellar said, “It is a great honour for the members of the HLP and the FIA to receive this award which acknowledges the Panel’s leadership in mobilising efforts to curb the number of casualties on the world’s roads”.

Established in 2015, the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety (HLP) brings together leaders from both the public and private sectors to build much-needed and sustained momentum for road safety action, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
