ERT - 2018 Driver List for 2018 ERT Final Revealed

The list of eligible drivers from across Europe for the 2018 European Rally Trophy finale in Portugal on the 16/17 November has been revealed. 

The last of the 34 rallies across seven European regional zones, the ADMV Lausitz Rallye in the Central Rally Trophy, was run last weekend and now the list of 117 drivers across the four European Rally Trophy classes can be unveiled. 

The top five drivers is each class from each of the seven regions are eligible to travel to Portugal to take up their place on the Rallye Casinos do Algarve which begins in 10 days time.

 

ERT Class Entry

There are 34 drivers from 17 different nations in the top ERT Class entry list and include the  champions from each region – Jean-Pascal Besson (FRA) from the Alpine Rally Trophy, Dan Girtofan (ROU) - Balkan Rally Trophy, Nikolay Gryazin (LVA) - Baltic Rally Trophy, Hermen Kobus (NLD) – Benelux Rally Trophy, Josh Moffett (IRL) – Celtic Rally Trophy, Ondřej Bisaha (CZE) – Central Rally Trophy and Ivan Ares (ESP) – Iberian Rally Trophy.

 

ERT2 Class Entry

There are 23 eligible drivers in the ERT2 class from 13 different nations.  The seven regional champions are as follows, with one driver, Belgium’s Filip Pyck, winning in two different zones – Filip Pyck (BEL) from the Alpine Rally Trophy, Yordan Atanasov (BGR) - Balkan Rally Trophy, Dmitry Feofanov (LVA) - Baltic Rally Trophy, Filip Pyck (BEL) – Benelux Rally Trophy, Willie Mavitty (GBR) – Celtic Rally Trophy, Marcin Slobodzian (POL) – Central Rally Trophy and Rui Jorge Fernandes (PRT) – Iberian Rally Trophy.

 

ERT3 Class Entry

The ERT3 class entry is the largest of the four eligible classes, with 35 drivers from 20 nations across Europe.  The seven regional champions are – Thomas Schmid (CHE) from the Alpine Rally Trophy, Csongor Szabo (ROU) - Balkan Rally Trophy, Ken Torn (EST) - Baltic Rally Trophy, Gert Jan Kobus (NLD) – Benelux Rally Trophy, Stephen Carey (IRL) – Celtic Rally Trophy, Vaclav Dunovsky (CZE) – Central Rally Trophy and Miguel Correia (PRT) – Iberian Rally Trophy.

 

ERT Junior Class Entry

The ERT Junior class entry for drivers born after 1 January 1991 features 30 drivers from 17 Nations.  The seven regional champions are listed here, with three – Thomas Schmid, Ken Torn and Gert Jan Kobus - also winning the ERT3 regional titles as well. 

The ERT Junior Champions are as follows – Thomas Schmid (CHE) from the Alpine Rally Trophy, Grigor Grigorov (BGR) - Balkan Rally Trophy, Ken Torn (EST) - Baltic Rally Trophy, Gert Jan Kobus (NLD) – Benelux Rally Trophy, Steve Rokland (NOR) – Celtic Rally Trophy, Erik Cais (CZE) – Central Rally Trophy and Simon Wagner (AUT) – Iberian Rally Trophy.

 

The FIA European Rally Trophy

The European Rally Trophy is made up of competitors from seven regions, which are the Alpine Rally Trophy, the Balkan Rally Trophy, the Baltic Rally Trophy, the Benelux Rally Trophy, the Celtic Rally Trophy, the Central Rally Trophy and the Iberian Rally Trophy.  The top five competitors in each class from the seven regions are eligible to enter the 2018 European Rally Trophy final.

The Rallye Casinos do Algarve gets underway on Wednesday 14 November with reconnaissance over two days. Scrutineering and admin checks take place on Thursday 15 November, with the start of the first leg of the rally taking place on Friday 16 November and concluding on Saturday 17 November.
