FIA Member the Automóvil Club Guatemala together with the Guatemalan American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Guatemala) and the Fundación para el Desarrollo de Guatemala (Fundesa) organised the Third International Congress of Road Safety in Guatemala that aimed to look at data and promote action to improve road safety in the country. FIA Region IV was represented among the speakers of the event.

FIA Member Club the Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA) launched the Itinerant Road Unit together with Ecuador’s Ministry of Education and the Metropolitan Traffic Agency of Quito. This programme aims to provide road education and sustainable mobility training to 40,000 students aged 6-16 from 20 provinces of the country in 2023.

On 19 January, FIA Member Club the Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines signed an Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement to reduce the environmental impact generated by land transport and encourage efficient driving.

More than 600 people, including around one hundred speakers from over 40 countries, attended the Latam Mobility Mexico in February. FIA, FIA Region III and FIA Region IV were present, as were other collaborating organisations such as the UN Environment Programme and the World Bank.

The 12 meter electric bus, inaugurated in collaboration with the Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú, will transport 80 passengers and represents a milestone for public transport and sustainable mobility in the Peruvian region.
