Performance Factor

The Performance Factor is a method of classifying the wide variety of cars used in single competitions.

Five factors are used to calculate the Performance Factor number:

Racing Weight, Engine, Aerodynamic, Drive Train and Chassis

Competitors input the values relating to each factor to create a Performance Factor number for their car. This number is  used to classify the cars into a group within their category.

In Hill Climbing there are two categories:

  • C1 for production type cars using Technical Regulation article 258-1 of Appendix J.
  • C2 for Prototypes using Technical Regulation article 258-2 of Appendix J.

In the 2025 European Championship the groups are divided as follows:

The issuing of Pf-ID technical sheets for all cars is subject to payment and it lasts until 31st of December of the issuing year.

Pf Website

To obtain the Pf of the car, the driver fills in a technical form online. The online application handles the processing of technical information and facilitates the use of the Pf formula (instantaneous calculation of the Pf).
