Vodafone Greece Becomes First Company in Greece to Earn 3-Star Rating from the FIA Road Safety Index with Support from FIA Member RSI Panos Mylonas
The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) — the federation for mobility organisations worldwide and the global governing body for motor sport — is proud to announce that Vodafone Greece has achieved the FIA Road Safety Index 3-star rating — the highest current recognition.

With this rating, Vodafone Greece becomes the first company in the country — and the first telecommunications provider globally — to join a growing international network of organisations that are leading the way in embedding road safety into their operational practices, sustainability strategies, and reporting. This milestone underscores Vodafone’s global commitment to the principle that “No one gets hurt,”and strengthens its strategic focus on safe driving, reaffirming the company’s leadership and dedication to road safety.
The FIA Road Safety Index, launched by the FIA with funding support from its charitable organisation the FIA Foundation, is a pioneering tool developed to help organisations measure, manage, and report on their road safety footprint across supply chains and operations. Achieving a 3-star rating signifies a strong commitment and high performance in both safety management and the reduction of crash-related risks.
It is through the proactive support of the Road Safety Institute (R.S.I.) “Panos Mylonas” that Vodafone Greece was introduced to the FIA Road Safety Index and guided through the rating process.
Willem Groenewald, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility said, "At the FIA, our mission is to empower our Member Clubs to drive safer, more sustainable and accessible mobility for all. The successful engagement of Vodafone Greece by R.S.I. “Panos Mylonas” to adopt the FIA Road Safety Index demonstrates the strength of our engagement network. It is a powerful example of how our Members connect global initiatives with meaningful local action, leveraging their unique position to reach companies and embed road safety into corporate culture.
"We congratulate Vodafone Greece on being the first company in Greece to achieve the FIA Road Safety Index’s 3-star rating. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and ensure their commitment drives global progress.”
Iro Melliou, Human Resources Director of Vodafone Greece, said, “We are deeply honored to be recognised by the FIA Road Safety Index with a 3-star rating — an achievement that reflects our strong and ongoing commitment to embedding a culture of safety across every aspect of our operations. At Vodafone Greece, road safety is not merely a compliance requirement, but a strategic and human priority that directly supports our role as a responsible employer and business partner that prioritises the well-being of its people. This recognition reinforces our belief that safety, sustainability, and business performance are intrinsically connected — and that organisations have a vital role to play in creating safer societies for all.”
Vassiliki Danelli-Mylona, R.S.I “Panos Mylonas” President of the Board of Directors, added:
“As the FIA Member Club dedicated to advancing road safety in Greece, we are honoured to have guided Vodafone Greece through the FIA Road Safety Index process. This achievement showcases how Clubs like ours can drive real impact with the help of the FIA, empowering companies to integrate strong road safety practices. We look forward to extending this support to more organisations, driving forward a culture of continuous improvement in road safety across our communities.”
