A one-week drone training programme was successfully delivered in Trinidad and Tobago, funded by the FIA Regional Development Programme and conducted by the Drone & Vertical Mobility Academy, in partnership with FIA Region III and the Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Association.

The course brought together representatives from across the Americas and the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, Belize, Canada, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, and Trinidad & Tobago.

Participants engaged in theoretical and practical sessions covering safe drone operation, regulatory compliance, and business applications. The training was designed to equip attending FIA Member Clubs with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively integrate drone technologies into their activities.

By the conclusion of the programme, each participant had developed ideas for how their Club could implement the technology, from establishing their own drone pilot schools to using automated drones for race monitoring on circuits. This diversity of applications demonstrates the broad potential of drones within motor sport and mobility.

This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the FIA Regional Development Programme to support FIA Regions and Member Clubs in adopting innovative technologies that enhance their operations and services.
