The FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme, an initiative set up by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission, is now in its decisive stage and the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) will be playing its part. The aim is to promote women in motorsport and support talented girls between the ages of 12 and 16 as they seek to embark on a career as a professional racing driver.

The first full day of the second FIA Girls on Track - Rising Stars Training Camp proved intense for the eight drivers through to the fourth phase of this innovative programme for 12-16 year old girls. For some, it was their first taste of single-seaters and Formula 4 race cars, and the pressure was on to adapt to this entry-level motor sport category and show speed and on-going progression throughout the day.

Eight drivers are now taking part in the next phase of the FIA Girls on Track - Rising Stars, the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission’s innovative talent detection and nurturing programme. The fourth of six steps for one selected driver to potentially become part of the Ferrari Driver Academy starts this week (2-4 November) with the second Formula 4 focused Training Camp run by the Winfield Racing School at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.

We’re delighted that FIA Disability and Accessibility Commission President, racing driver, and co-founder of charity Spinal Track, Nathalie McGloin, has been nominated in The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards 2020. Nathalie is shortlisted in the Disability Sportswoman of the Year category, which recognises outstanding performers in disability sport.
