Molly Taylor will continue preparing for her return to the FIA World Rally Championship when she drives the course opening zero car on Rally del Casentino in Italy this weekend.

Taylor, one of the stars of the inaugural FIA WRC Academy in 2011 and a supporter of the FIA’s Women in Motorsport campaign, is tackling selected rounds of the world championship this season in a United Business-backed Citroen DS3 R3T run by the BP Racing operation in Italy and co-driven by her regular navigator Seb Marshall.

Upon securing her programme last month, Taylor, who is being supported by management firm United Business, said: “For me it is a fantastic opportunity and a great step forward in my career. I am trying to soak [up] as much as possible, this car has many possible settings, we are trying to understand it as we go. We have a lot of work to do this year to gain experience, we will take what comes and try to make the most of it.”

Rally del Casentino gets underway at 10:30hrs local time on Saturday 14 July and features eight Tarmac special stages including a 35-kilometre test run at night.

Following Rally del Casentino, Taylor will contest Rally Coppa Citta di Luca in Italy from 21-22 July prior to Neste Oil Rally Finland from 2-4 August. The 24-year-old from Australia will then take part on ADAC Rallye Deutschland from 24-26 August.
