The ADAC provides assistance at more than 100,000 breakdowns and accidents on Germany’s motorways every year. During these operations, emergency personnel are frequently exposed to dangerous situations, and, unfortunately, serious and even fatal accidents still occur. To help prevent such incidents, ADAC has developed an AI‑based video detection system that issues a loud horn warning whenever there is a risk of collision, alerting both the responders on scene and the approaching traffic. This has been proven to reduce accidents. In the next phase, a funding programme will be launched to reduce the unit price.
