The Chinese round of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup has come to a successful conclusion in Xuancheng, Anhui – as the only event outside Europe this season, the event was a great demonstration of the FIA’s core vision for the category – promoting sustainable development in global motor sport. With a highly competitive platform, the rally attracted ten top international crews from 12 countries including Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Switzerland, as well as 40 competitive domestic Chinese teams.

Competition in the international field was particularly fierce. The Czech duo of Michal Žďárský and Jakub Nábělek delivered an outstanding performance, securing the Combined Classification victory in the international category. They also swept both the Regularity and the Energy Consumption Classification, making them the biggest winners in the international category.

As one of the defining values of the FIA EcoRally Cup, the event attracts strong involvement from leading new energy brands and models including Chinese EV manufacturers such as NIO, Chery, JAC, Hongqi, BYD, and Wuling, and international brands including Volkswagen and BMW, while Li Auto served as the official support vehicles throughout the event.

To further strengthen industry collaboration, the Organizing Committee arranged a two-day “In-depth Visit to Chinese New Energy Automakers” programme for international drivers, industry experts, and media representatives. The delegation visited the factories of NIO, JAC, and the headquarters of Chery, gaining firsthand experience of the intelligent processes spanning from component manufacturing to full vehicle assembly. This immersive exchange not only provided Chinese automakers with an excellent showcase platform but also deepened global industry understanding of China’s new energy sector.

At the same time, the rally fully embraced Anhui’s unique landscape and cultural heritage by integrating local culture and tourism resources into the race design, creating a distinctive experience of “Racing + Tourism & Culture”. This allowed global participants to enjoy both the thrill of competition and the rich charm of Chinese traditions and natural scenery.

The successful staging of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup (China) represents an important step for the FIA in promoting eco-friendly motor sport worldwide and fostering cross-regional exchange in the automotive industry. The value of this event lies not only in delivering a high-level competition, but also in leveraging its platform to showcase new energy vehicles, facilitate communication, and offer mobility experiences. Above all, it shows the FIA’s firm commitment to the future of new energy motor sport and sustainable mobility.

Zhou Xiaoxu, FIA Electric and New Energy Championships Commission President, said: “The Chinese round of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup not only marks the first official running of such an event in the country, but also represents a historic step as the series expands beyond Europe to a broader global stage. Thanks to the joint efforts from FIA, ASN, local governments, and all partners, the FIA EcoRally Cup has become a new beginning for a more innovative and influential platform. With combined efforts, it will empower us to use motor sport to play a more significant role in developing new energy technology while promoting sustainable mobility.”
