The FIA Region IV Sustainable Mobility Programme, in cooperation with French firm HINICIO Consulting, selected ANETA as a trial Club to address sustainable issues at a national level.

Executives from the Automovil Club del Ecuador (ANETA), FIA Region IV, and HINICIO Consulting organized several meetings with the Ministries of Transport, Energy, Environment; the Association of Automotive Companies in Ecuador (AEADE); the National Polytechnic School, private companies, among other entities in order to gather more information about alternative mobility in Ecuador.

“At ANETA, we firmly believe that it is fundamental to raise awareness on the hazardous effects of the gases produced by vehicles“, stated Gorki Obando, ANETA’s General Manager.

“We appreciate the authorities’ interest in this issue and we recently submitted a bill to Congress that seeks to foster Sustainable Mobility and Electromobility”.

Diego Cosentino, FIA Region IV’s Regional Manager, added “we decided to implement a sustainable mobility program focused on electric mobility aimed at our member Clubs. ANETA complies with all the requirements to become a ‘trial country’.”

Such program also includes workshops for ANETA'S area executives and experts on mobility. Such workshops aim at keeping them updated on the results of the assessment on Mobility in the country as well as providing them with knowledge and engaging them in short-term projects.

All this falls within the framework of a mid-term project, which is as already being implemented at ANETA, aimed at protecting natural resources and providing new means of transport that do not pollute the air.
