AAC Mobility Lifeline: Beyond the Call of Duty [AAC, Sri Lanka]

08.03.26

Following Cyclone Ditwah, the Automobile Association of Ceylon activated AAC Mobility Lifeline, transforming its 24-hour call centre into a real-time national mobility coordination hub. Managing a 200% surge in emergency calls, the team guided motorists, rescue services, and evacuees through flooded roads and landslides. Supported by 60 staff, 135+ volunteers, and 45–50 deployed vehicles, AAC also mobilised its nationwide network of 160+ accredited garages, demonstrating how established mobility partnerships can support national resilience and recovery during crises.
