World Cup for Cross Country Bajas
World Cup for Cross Country Bajas
The 2020 FIA World Cup for Cross Country Bajas once again takes in eight events across Europe and the Middle East and promises yet more hard-fought action across a variety of terrains. The series kicks off in the snowy forests of Russia before two events in the Middle East, the Dubai and Jordan rounds now running consecutively to harmonise logistics for competitors. The contenders then head to a string of European events with the finale hosted in Portugal at the end of October.
Each Baja will now have a total distance for selective sections of at least 350 kilometres over two days and for all the titles, results from six of the eight events will count.
New for 2020 are amended groups and classes, paving the way for SSV (side by side vehicles), drivers and teams now able to compete in their own category for a dedicated Trophy. T1, T2 and T3 (formerly T3P) Groups remain and the SSVs (formerly T3S) will compete in the newly-created T4 category. Leg points have also been introduced across all the driver and co-driver category World Cups - ensuring crews who have retired can re-start and have something to fight for on a subsequent day.
