2019 World RX of Canada - Q3

GRX Taneco’s Timur Timerzyanov headed a one two for the Finnish team in Q3 at the World RX of Canada, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Russia’s Timerzyanov took the lead of Q3 race 3 with the hole shot and drove his Hyundai i20 Supercar to the quickest time, with overnight TQ (top qualifier) Niclas Gronholm making it a Q3 top two for GRX with a win in race 4 and second quickest time.

Monster Energy RX Cartel’s Andreas Bakkerud was second to Timerzyanov in race 3 and third in Q3, with Team Hansen MJP’s Timmy Hansen fighting back from a difficult Saturday with a win in race 1 and P4 overall. RX Cartel’s Liam Doran was second in race 1 behind Hansen after contact with Team STARD’s Jani Paasonen at the first turn and was P5.

Completing the top six was GCK Academy’s Cyril Raymond, the Frenchman taking the hole shot in race two in front of Hansen MJP’s Kevin Hansen and out jokered the World RX Drivers’ Championship leader to take a race win.

The biggest drama in the session was at the start of race 4, when GCK’s Rokas Baciuska and ALL-INKL.COM’s Muennich Motorsport touched on the start straight and Scheider’s Seat Ibiza was spun through the air. His car also hit the GCK’s Guerlain Chicherit, which broke the Renault Megane RS RX’s front right suspension. Team STARD’s Janis Baumanis and Gronholm avoided the contact, but Baumanis spun into a tyre wall at the end of lap one.
