2019 World RX of Benelux - Qualifying 2

Britain’s Liam Doran made it a Monster Energy RX Cartel sweep of day one at the Spa World RX of Benelux, round three of the FIA World Rallycross Championship with the quickest time to take overnight TQ (top qualifier).

The grid order was reversed for Q2 by random selection and British Bomb Doran took the lead of Q2 race 2 from the start to win after a Q4 joker.

Team STARD’s Janis Baumanis dived from the outside of the grid to the inside of turn one in Q2 race 3 and won the race with the second quickest time to Doran.

World RX Drivers’ Championship leader Kevin Hansen also switched from the outside of the grid to the inside of turn 1 in Q2 race 2, but was overtaken later in the race by a similar inside move from GRX Taneco’s Timur Timerzyanov.

GRX’s Joni Wiman won Q1 race 1 in front of ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport’s Timo Scheider and was P4 in Q2 to be P3 on day one, in front of Scheider and Timerzyanov.

Kevin Hansen and Team Hansen MJP team mate, round two winner Timmy Hansen could only manage P8 and P10, sandwiching RX Cartel’s Andreas Bakkerud, who even though P9 in Q2, is P2 after Q2.

Home hero Francois Duval had problems on the final lap of Q2 race 3 but made it to the end of the race. Countryman Gregoire Demoustier meanwhile had contact with Team STARD’s Pal Try and GCK’s Guerlain Chicherit in Q2 race 4 and retired.
