2019 World RX of Canada - Q1

Monster Energy RX Cartel’s Andreas Bakkerud and Liam Doran took a one-two for the team in Q1 at the World RX of Canada, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in Trois-Rivieres.

Norway’s Bakkerud took the holeshot in Q1 race four to lead the for all four laps and set a quicker time than his team mate Doran, after the British Bomb beat GC Kompetition’s Guerlain Chicherit in race two.

GRX Taneco’s Timur Timerzaynov shut the door on Team Hansen MJP’s Timmy Hansen in turn one of the first race of the weekend and took P3, with the other race winner, GCK’s Anton Marklund from race three, in P4.

Timmy Hansen is P5, but his team mate and World RX Drivers’ Championship leader Kevin Hansen didn’t make the best start in race three, he got caught battling with ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport’s Timo Scheider and STARD’s Janis Baumanis and is P10 after Q1.

GRX’s Niclas Gronholm took an early joker from P2 in the same race but the tactic didn’t pay off as well as it could have and he ended up P6, with Chicherit, Scheider, Baumanis and Kevin Hansen completing the top 10.

GCK’s Rokas Baciuska passed EKS Sport’s Krisztian Szabo on the final lap of race four but was given a five second track limits penalty and is P15.
