Trainers from across South and Central America Took Part in Heavy Vehicle Driving Courses
With the goal of strengthening the teams of FIA Clubs and expanding drivers’ knowledge, a specialised training session on heavy vehicles was held in Argentina. The activity, conducted at the Rogelio Cavalieri Iribarne Professional Training Center (Escobar, Argentina), was part of a strategic alliance between FIA Region IV (South and Central America), the Professional Transport Foundation (FPT) and FADEEAC. The programme aimed to prepare instructors in freight transport under two main pillars: road safety and sustainability.

In addition to the technical training, the event served as a valuable space for regional exchange, where representatives from different Clubs shared experiences and challenges from their countries, enriching a shared vision toward safer, more efficient and more sustainable mobility throughout Latin America.
Teams from the Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo, the Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA), the Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC), the Automóvil Club del Uruguay, the Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú, the Automóvil Club Boliviano, and the Automóvil Club de Costa Rica, together with representatives from FIA Region IV, took part in the programme.
“The joint work of FIA Clubs across the region is key to strengthening road safety and professional training in freight transport,” said Ricardo Morales Rubio, FIA Region IV President.
“Hosting the countries of the region and leading this training session is essential: we not only have the tools and technical capacity to train instructors in freight transport under sustainability and road safety standards, but we also learn from the challenges faced by each neighbouring country. That allows us to grow together and continue contributing to road safety throughout South America,” stated Sergio Ruppel, President of the Professional Transport Foundation (FPT).
This joint action with FPT – a strategic partner and a regional leader in efficient and sustainable freight transport –reaffirms the commitment of FIA Region IV and its Clubs to professional training and the development of safer and more sustainable mobility across the region.
