The 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship season starts this weekend at Höljes Motorstadion, Sweden, owing to the joint efforts of the FIA, the series promoter IMG, the local organiser and health authorities.

Reigning two-time RX2 Series title-winner Oliver Eriksson has been appointed as the official test driver and ambassador for the new FIA eRX2 Championship, as preparations intensify ahead of the all-electric series’ inaugural campaign on the FIA World Rallycross Championship undercard in 2021.

The new FIA eRX2 Championship will provide a pathway for emerging rallycross talent when it joins the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2021.

The FIA has announced its decision to postpone the electrification implementation plan for 2021 by one year, due to the economic challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In light of the Generalitat de Catalunya’s decree to currently suspend all live sporting events in response to the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, this year’s World RX of Catalunya-Barcelona on April 18-19 has been postponed.

The countdown is on for the start of the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship as the FIA announces the opening of registrations.
