Smart, Scalable, Mobile: FIA Honours FIA Innovation Challenge 2025 Region I Champions

08.05.25

The FIA is proud to announce the 2025 FIA Innovation Challenge 2025 Region I Champions: ACA Club (Andorra), FAU (Ukraine), and ANWB (The Netherlands), ÖAMTC (Austria), and TCS (Switzerland). These Clubs have delivered innovative, high-impact projects that demonstrate the potential of mobility innovation to drive positive change, strengthen Club growth, and inspire the broader FIA community.

Club Vertical Mobility: Innovation and Profitability

The ACA Club (Andorra)’s project improves mobility and safety with drones and specialised training. Aimed at pilots, event organisers, and public services providers, it strengthens the Club’s leadership in vertical mobility innovation. The training programme includes online theory and practical training with certified instructors.

ACA is the first entity in Andorra to offer drone training, creating a unique revenue stream from training fees. The Clubs’ expertise has led to consulting opportunities in drone applications for both private and public sectors.

Pan-European Medical Drone Network

The project of the ANWB (The Netherlands), ÖAMTC (Austria) and TCS (Switzerland) significantly improves emergency medical logistics and reduces the pressure on healthcare systems through multi-country drone operations managed from a single location – a world first.

This cross-border drone network enables cost-effective operations through economies of scale not possible for single-country operations, supporting hospitals and medical laboratories, and improving patient care through innovative logistics. The project also serves as a blueprint for future collaborative mobility projects.

Safe Mobility 4 All in a Box

FAU (Ukraine)’s project aims to improve road safety in low- and middle‑income (LMI) countries by addressing the lack of access to safe driving education in the country, due to the scarcity of Safe Driving Centres (SDCs) and qualified instructors.

The project creates Mobile Safety Driving Centres using a kit called Safe Mobility 4 All in a Box, which allows driver training to be delivered anywhere without the need for costly permanent facilities.
