The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship is celebrating a win award at International Historic Motoring Awards

Two FIA championships were nominated in the Race Series of the year category, the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship and the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship. The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship was victorious in its maiden season, continuing the excellent tradition of GP Masters, Masters previous Formula One category.

“Winning this award is a great honour,” said Masters’ Event Manager Rachel Bailey. “We have enjoyed a very successful season as the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship and this award is a reflection on the support from competitors and the backing of the FIA as much as it is our own work in making sure that the championships is well run. We have seen an upsurge in interest from Formula One owners with cars from this period and with the championship having momentum, I am confident that 2014 will be an even bigger success. To everyone who helped us to win this award, thank you. It is very much a team effort.”

The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship will continue in 2014 and its calendar will be announced shortly.
