FIA announces Yokohama and Panta as official suppliers for WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup in 2018 and 2019

The FIA is pleased to announce that it has appointed Yokohama as Official Tyre Supplier and Panta as Official Fuel Supplier for the new WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup.

Created at the end of 2017 to replace the FIA World Touring Car Championship, the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup will see the globe’s top touring car drivers battling it out across a proposed 10-round competition that is set to taking in some of the world greatest circuits, including Germany’s Nürburgring, Japan’s Suzuka, as well as the iconic Circuito da Guia street circuit in Macau. And in pole position as official suppliers to the new WTCR with a two-year deal covering the 2018 and 2019 seasons will be Yokohama and Panta.

Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama has a long history in touring car racing Yokohama was chosen thanks to its long association with Touring Car racing, having supplied tyres to the FIA World Touring Car Championship for more than a decade. It now moves to the WTCR as Official Tyre Suplier to the new Cup competition.

Panta also brings a wealth of motor sport experience to the WTCR. The official fuel of the FIA World Rally Championship and until the recently official fuel the FIA WTCC, the Italian company also supplies fuel to a number of major single-seater categories and karting as well as some of the world’s motorcycle championships. It now bring that racing expertise from the WTCC to the new WTCR competition.

The inaugural WTCR schedule will open at the semi-permanent Circuit Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco on 7-8 April, 201 and close at the legendary Circuito da Guia in Macau on 15-18 November.

Each WTCR event will consist of three races. One qualifying session and one race will take place on the opening day, while the second day will feature a three-phase qualifying session and two races with the first race utilising a reverse grid.

Yokohama et Panta fournisseurs officiels de la WTCR – Coupe du Monde des Voitures de Tourisme de la FIA en 2018 et 2019

La FIA est heureuse d’annoncer qu’elle a désigné Yokohama comme fournisseur officiel de pneumatiques et Panta comme fournisseur officiel de carburant pour la toute nouvelle WTCR – Coupe du Monde des Voitures de Tourisme de la FIA.

Créée fin 2017 en remplacement du Championnat du Monde des Voitures de Tourisme de la FIA (WTCC), la WTCR - Coupe du Monde des Voitures de Tourisme de la FIA verra les meilleurs pilotes mondiaux de Touring Car s’affronter lors d’une compétition en 10 manches disputée sur certains des plus grands circuits du globe, dont le Nürburgring en Allemagne, Suzuka au Japon et le mythique Circuito da Guia dans les rues de Macao. Et, en pole position, Yokohama et Panta seront les fournisseurs officiels WTCR pour un contrat de deux ans couvrant les saisons 2018 et 2019. 

Le manufacturier japonais Yokohama a été sélectionné en raison de sa longue expérience en Touring Car, ayant fourni les pneus pour le Championnat du Monde des Voitures de Tourisme de la FIA pendant plus d’une décennie. Il aborde à présent ce nouveau chapitre en tant que fournisseur officiel de pneumatiques pour la Coupe.
Panta apporte aussi toute sa connaissance du sport automobile en WTCR. Fournisseur officiel de carburant du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes de la FIA puis, jusqu’à une date récente, du WTCC FIA, la société italienne fournit du carburant à de grandes catégories monoplaces et au karting ainsi qu’à certains championnats du monde de motos. Elle continuera de mobiliser cette expertise pour la nouvelle compétition WTCR.

La Coupe WTCR inaugurale débutera sur le circuit semi-permanent Moulay El Hassan à Marrakech, au Maroc, les 7-8 avril 2018 et se conclura sur le légendaire Circuito da Guia à Macao les 15-18 novembre.
