As a new suspension part, used at Zandvoort for the first time, didn’t comply with the technical regulations, the points’ leader had all the times from second qualifying deleted. His Prema Powerteam refrained from lodging an appeal, so that Stroll will be starting FIA Formula 3 European Championship season races number 17 and 18 from the back of the grid.

Lance Stroll’s car wasn’t the only one that didn’t pass post-qualifying scrutineering. The car driven by Sérgio Sette Câmara (Motopark) was also found to be not in accordance with the requirements of the technical inspection. It failed to pass the vacuum test, used to determine how much air is reaching the engine. As a result, the Brazilian also had his lap times from second qualifying taken away and he also has to start the second and third race of the weekend from the back of the grid.

As a result, first place in second qualifying went to Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing). In the ranking of the second-fastest lap times, Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) inherited the position up front.
