28.02.14
Racing action at its best, exclusive background features, team and driver portraits and far more – the new Eurosport FIA F3 European Championship magazine on Tuesday evenings is a new must for every motor racing enthusiast.

Eurosport, the biggest sports channel in Europe, has joined the list of broadcasters of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and will broadcast a 26-minute magazine every Tuesday after each of the 11 meetings of the 2014 season, which will give the viewers a look at the behind-the-scenes of the story of tomorrow’s stars as they head for Formula 1 and the pinnacle of motor sport.

Thanks to Eurosport’s extensive coverage this new magazine will be broadcasted in 20 languages in 54 countries reaching 131 million TV households. After the first broadcast on Eurosport on Tuesday the program devoted to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship will also be shown on Eurosport 2 and on Eurosport Asia-Pacific. All the latest news of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship will be given in the weekly Eurosport show ‘Motorsports weekend’.

This season the FIA Formula 3 European Championship will race on the most prestigious Formula 1 circuits (Silverstone, Hockenheim, Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps, Red Bull Ring and Nürburgring) as well as two legendary city tracks, Pau and the Norisring. New horizons are also opening up with events in Russia on the Moscow Raceway as well as the eagerly-awaited race at Imola in Italy.

The 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship looks like being an exceptional one with an attractive calendar, an entry list comprising the best European single-seater teams and the most promising young coming men allied to wide-ranging TV coverage and a level playing field from both a technical and sporting point of view guaranteed by the FIA officials.

Gerhard Berger, President of the FIA Single-Seater Commission: “The arrival of Eurosport among the panel of broadcasters of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is great news. The FIA Formula 3 European Championship has stepped up to a new level this season and is now the F1 feeder series which enjoys the widest television coverage, as it is firmly established in Europe, Asia and on the American continent. This confirms the repositioning of Formula 3 as a crucial step in the process of training top-level drivers.”

Walter Mertes, CEO Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH: “This broadcasting agreement with Eurosport, which has been made possible thanks to our reliable partners who are supporting us in this championship, will provide even greater coverage, with an attractive program format to help young drivers make an even stronger impact on the general public.”

François Ribeiro, Eurosport Events Motorsport Director: “The FIA has worked well to rejuvenate Formula 3 into a strong European Championship. Alongside WTCC, ERC, Le Mans, Superbike or Dakar, Eurosport will give F3 an umbrella coverage across Europe and Asia on Tuesday after each event.”
