ETRC: action resumes in Most as Kiss chases fourth title

31.08.22

Following the summer break, Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship will be back in action at Autodrom Most in the Czechia this weekend

14 drivers are set to tackle the 4.212-kilometre circuit this weekend, with the Czech venue kicking off a busy second half of the season, featuring four race weekends scheduled across five weeks, including the championship finale taking place at Circuito del Jarama, Spain from October 1-2.

Norbert Kiss enjoyed a strong first half of the season, taking nine wins out of 15 races, and is leading the championship with a comfortable 48-point gap over second-placed Jochen Hahn, with Sascha Lenz in third, only six points adrift off his more decorated compatriot.

Local ace Adam Lacko took his first win of the season at Round 2 at the Hungaroring and will be looking to return to winning ways in front of his home crowd.

A consistent run of podiums and a win at Misano have put T Sport Bernau racer Antonio Albacete in fifth position overall, and the Spaniard is always one to watch for the Top 3.

Steffi Halm scored her first couple of podiums in the last round at the Nürburgring and will be looking to maintain their streak of strong results.

After his podium at the Slovakia Ring, André Kursim is another driver seeking more silverware in Most.

After taking his first overall win at the Nürburgring in July, Lukas Hahn returns to the grid for the Most round as a race-by-race entry.

French outfit Lion Truck Racing confirmed it will continue to race in the Goodyear FIA ETRC after the passing of its driver Anthony Janiec.

The team will enter Jonathan André, who recently completed a test day in Nogaro and is set to take over the team’s familiar bright yellow MAN this weekend.

The action gets underway with free practice on Friday afternoon and the all-important qualifying will begin on Saturday morning with two races scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.
