The cancellation of the Hockenheim finals due to curfew restrictions left valuable points unclaimed, ensuring that the outcome of multiple championships could ultimately be decided by the final runs of the season.

In Top Fuel, reigning champion Susanne Callin arrives as the favourite. The Swedish driver leads the standings by 54 points after a consistent campaign that included victory at The Main Event and another final appearance at Hockenheim. Rookie Colin Millar remains her closest challenger, while 2024 champion Jndia Erbacher still retains an outside chance despite trailing by 76 points.

The closest battle is in Top Methanol, where Tony Bryntesson holds a slender three-point advantage over Timo Habermann. Bryntesson moved into the lead after Tierp and Hockenheim, but with such a narrow margin, the championship remains impossible to predict. Further back, Jonny Lagg, Isak Lagg, reigning champion Sandro Bellio and Tina Høst Nedregård are all capable of influencing the title fight as a strong seven-car field assembles at Santa Pod.

Pro Modified once again boasts the championship's deepest and most international field. Estonian driver Andres Arnover leads the standings thanks to his remarkable consistency, but reigning champion Jere Rantaniemi sits only 21 points behind and remains firmly in contention for a third consecutive title. Norway's Stian Rusånes and Dutch driver Michel Tooren head a chasing group eager to capitalise on any mistakes from the leading pair. Competitors representing nine nations feature within the top ten positions, underlining the category's strength and diversity.

In Pro Stock, 13-time European champion Jimmy Ålund stands on the brink of another title despite not having won a race this season. Consistency has placed the Swede 35 points clear of reigning champion Robin Norén, while Simon Ekengren and Stefan Ernryd continue to battle for third place. Ålund now has the opportunity to secure a remarkable 14th FIA European Pro Stock crown.

Qualifying for the European Finals begins on Friday and continues on Saturday, with eliminations scheduled for Sunday. By the end of the weekend, four new FIA European champions will be crowned, bringing another thrilling season of drag racing to its conclusion.
