23.01.26

Returning for its third edition, applications for the FIA Innovation Challenge 2026 are now open. From large-scale initiatives to targeted, local campaigns, Member Clubs from across the four Mobility Regions in the FIA network are invited to submit innovative projects that drive growth, development and meaningful impact for communities.

The FIA, in collaboration with its four Mobility Regions, has announced the launch of the FIA Innovation Challenge 2026. The Challenge aims to celebrate and share Mobility initiatives that deliver value in new or better ways, helping Clubs grow, adapt and thrive.

Open exclusively to FIA Member Clubs with projects both big and small, applications should be Mobility initiatives launched, active or completed in the past 24 months. With each Club welcome to submit a maximum of four projects, the FIA Innovation Challenge celebrates any new or improved idea, service, or way of working that that helps a Club better serve its members, partners, or community.

Regional Selection Committees will choose the 12 Regional Champions, with three champions per Region, announced and awarded at regional congresses throughout the year. A global judging panel will then select one Global Winner from each Region, who will receive their awards at the FIA General Assemblies week in Shanghai, China, in December.

Applications for FIA Region I (Europe, Middle East and Africa) close on Friday 13 February 2026, with FIA Regions II, III and IV (Asia and Pacific, North America, and South and Central America) closing on Friday 10 April 2026.

Willem Groenewald, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Sustainability said, “In a rapidly evolving mobility landscape, we need to continue to adapt to meet the challenges of the future. The FIA Innovation Challenge demonstrates and rewards the incredible creativity, commitment and impact of our Member Clubs for road users and communities as a whole.

As we enter the third edition of the Challenge, I’m excited to see how our Clubs keep building on this momentum, developing solutions that respond to local challenges while contributing to safer, more sustainable and more accessible mobility for everyone.”
