In August 2017, ADAC passed 20 million members for the first time since the Club’s foundation. With membership at an all-time high, Europe’s largest mobility Club has become by far Germany’s strongest member organisation. On 31 August 2017, ADAC had 20.04 million members.

We’re here – and our focus is on the people – living and breathing this motto, we have been a successful and strong Club for over a hundred years, which explains the great trust people place in the ADAC services and products,” says ADAC President Dr August Markl. “We greatly appreciate this trust and will strive to prove day in, day out that people can fully rely on ADAC and its committed staff also in the future. Thus, we will continue to develop and adapt consistently to the challenges that come with the ever-growing choice of connected mobility solutions. We will ensure our members’ personal mobility both as a successful roadside assistance provider and as a digital mobility services provider.”

Founded in 1903 as Deutsche Motorradfahrer-Vereinigung (German Motorcyclists’ Association), ADAC has become Germany’s largest member organisation over the past decades. 40% of its members are women. Currently, the average member is 50.1 years of age. With a share of 34.6% and 37.5% respectively, most members belong to the 30-50 and 50-70 age bands. 13.4% of members are younger than 30. 14.6% are over 70. The average length of ADAC membership is 21 years.
