On 17 October, 19 people from “Young ANWB”, one of the staff Associations of the Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB, under the coordination of Aleid Lieshout, ANWB International Relations Communications Executive, visited the FIA Headquarters in Paris, over a 2-day trip of presentations, meetings and social activities.

The official visit was part of the study trip programme that the FIA Club organises each year for its young participants, to help them connect with other members of the FIA family, learn about their activities and develop their network.

Welcomed on Thursday by Andrew McKellar, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, and Crystelle Job, Director of the FIA Membership and Services Department, 19 young members of ANWB (from 25 to 35 years old) took part in a wide number of interactive presentations carried out by the FIA staff, with a particular focus on Membership and Services.

FIA Mobility staff connected with the ANWB group and provided them with an overview of the FIA mission and the Mobility programmes and activities, including presentations on the Road Safety Grant Programme, the #3500LIVES global road safety campaign, the Tourism Services, and the Sustainable Mobility Programmes. The Club’s members also heard from the FIA Communications Department about the strategic goals of digital and internal communications.

Addressing the participants, FIA President Jean Todt said: “As a Federation of Members we have the responsibility to cover the needs of all our member organisations, which have a very diverse background, and to create synergies.”

The visit concluded with a cruise on the Seine river, where FIA staff and members had the opportunity to catch up with colleagues and network in a more informal environment.

Before leaving Paris, on Friday morning, “Young ANWB” benefited from a visit to TOTAL, where TOTAL’s Marketing & Services Department shared with them their vision on future sustainability challenges.
