Four dynamic females racing in the United States hope to take the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship by storm with a ground-breaking team on board the No. 57 Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) Acura NSX GT3 car.

FIA Women in Motorsport Commission Ambassador Katherine Legge (GBR) will line-up alongside Simona De Silvestro (CHE), Bia Figueiredo (Ana Beatriz, BRA) and American Jackie Heinricher, who has pulled together the partnership with Heinricher Racing, Caterpillar Inc and Meyer Shank Racing for their assault in the US next season.

“I am so pleased to see this strong programme for these great women drivers,” said Michèle Mouton, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission. “Driving in a top team they can showcase their talent in IMSA’s flagship series and demonstrate they have earned their place on the grid. Their target for next year’s Le Mans is also hugely exciting and I am sure they will reward the team’s faith in their proven ability.”

The crew will also compete in the 2019 Michelin Endurance Cup Championship rounds with De Silvestro confirmed for the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. The Endurance Cup will also include events at Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. In addition to its full season IMSA campaign, the partnership is targeting the 87th running of the 24 Heures du Mans. The MSR team last raced and led laps at Le Mans in 2016 competing in the highly-competitive LMP2 category. Legge and Heinricher will co-drive for the full-season IMSA GT Daytona campaign.
