Stefan Mücke - no66 Ford Chip Ganassi UK Ford GT

“Le Mans was a great success for everyone involved in this programme. It was an amazing effort by the whole team and it makes you really proud to be part of it. Now it is time for us to get the first WEC win and of course fight for the championship. We are leading the driver’s championship, which is a great feeling, but the season is long and the competitors are strong. Of course we want to win races but we also need to be consistent and collect as many points as possible.

“I really like the Nürburgring. Last year the atmosphere was really good there with all of the enthusiasm we felt from the spectators so I’m hoping it will be the same this weekend. The track is interesting, not just for us drivers but because the characteristics of it provide some good overtaking opportunities so we should be able to put on a good show. At the Nürburgring you have a good mixture of everything: slow technical sections with high and medium-speed corners. The handling of the Ford GT is well balanced so I’m sure we can fight for a podium position.”

Sébastien Buemi – no5 Toyota Gazoo Racing Toyota TS050 HYBRID

“I’m very much looking forward to the Nürburgring; it’s good that it is pretty close to Le Mans and we can go back racing. I think we will be able to fight again for the win. We need to look positively on the first part of the season. Out of the three races we were leading two of those until very late so I’m very confident that we will have a good performance level at Nürburgring as well. We all know how hard Le Mans was but this is behind us and it’s time to look to the rest of the season. We definitely want to win our first race of the year.”

Matt Howson – no44 Manor Oreca 05-Nissan

“It is really nice to be back with the team and I am really thankful to Graeme (Lowdon) and John (Booth). “I only got notified to be here a few days ago but I am ready to go. The team have shown already that they are bang on the pace and can challenge for podiums. I am just about to have my seat fitting in the car and in some respects I will be ‘plug-in and play’ because I obviously know the ORECA LMP2 car well from my races with KCMG.  Last season here we had a really good race and won it, but this season of course there are many more ORECAS out there and I think it will be much tougher, but I am really looking forward to working with the Manor team.”
