WEC - Conway Sets Pace in FP1 for Toyota at Home

Mike Conway set the fastest lap in the opening 90 minute Free Practice session of the weekend at Silverstone, Round 3 of the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship.  The British driver set a 1m39.916s in No.7 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS 050 HYBRID to lead the sister car,  with Sebastien Buemi setting a session best 1m40.191 in the No.8 Toyota.

Rebellion Racing were placed third and fourth, with the no3 R13-Gibson of Gustavo Menezes the first of the non hybrid cars.  Bruno Senna suffered a big accident in No1 R13-Gibson, going off and hitting the barriers.  The Brazilian reigning LMP2 champion was taken to medical centre for precautionary checks but later released.  Jenson Button sits fifth as No.11 SMP Racing BR01 looks to take challenge to Rebellion.  The no.4 ByKolles suffered technical issues and stops toward the end of the session

In LMGTE Pro it was a Ford 1-2 with Stefan Mucke took the top spot in the No.66 Ford GT with a 1m56.852, nearly seven tenths ahead of Andy Priaux in the No.67 Ford.  Porsche third with No.91 911 RSR, while reigning champion James Calado places No.51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in fourth position at his home circuit, 1.2 seconds behind the lead Ford.

Loic Duval was the quickest for TDS Racing in LMP2 class with a 1m46.122 lap and the former World Endurance Champion and Le Mans winner outpaces No.38 Jackie Chan DC Oreca.

LMGTE Am sees Matteo Cairoli emerge fastest for Dempsey-Proton Porsche, the Italian setting a 1m59.418s lap to head sister Dempsey-Proton No.77 car.  Gulf Racing complete a 1-2-3 for Porsche.
