WEC - 30 Entries for Super Sebring

The second race in the United States of America of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship will take place at Sebring on Friday 20 March.  The 1000 Miles of Sebring has attracted a 30 car entry, with LMP1 back up to a full complement of five cars with the return of the Team LNT Ginettas.

Round 5 winners Rebellion Racing will have a fight on their hands to repeat their performance at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas, with the two Toyota TS050s looking regain the top step from the Swiss team in Florida.

Corvette Racing will join Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche in the LMGTE Pro class for the second time this season as the American team test the new C8.R ahead of Le Mans in June. 

The two AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE EVOs will field a three man crew for the first time this season with Brazilian Daniel Serra joining Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado in the no51 Ferrari to reform the team that won the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans.  Britain’s Sam Bird rejoins Miguel Molina and Davide Rigon in the no71 488.  

The Aston Martin Racing and Porsche GT Team crews remain unchanged, with Aston Martin’s Marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim looking for a double victory in the US after their 1 lap win over reigning champions Michael Christensen and Kevin Estre in their Porsche 911 RSR-19 in Austin last month.

The LMP2 grid will feature seven cars with United Autosports Paul Di Resta, Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque looking for their third win in a row over the no37 Jackie Chan DC Racing and no38 JOTA Oreca-Gibsons.

The eleven car LMGTE AM grid will once again be one to watch.  Aston Martin travel to Sebring following a dominant 1-2 in Texas, with the no90 TF Sport Vantage of Salih Yoluc, Jonny Adam and Charlie Eastwood finishing ahead of the no98 Vantage of Paul Dalla Lana, Darren Turner and Ross Gunn by just 3.6 seconds at the end of the six hour race.

The 1000 Miles of Sebring is Round 6 of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship and takes place on Friday 20 March.
