The Touring and Automobile Club of Peru (TACP) has created an alliance with the Spanish Foundation MAPFRE to develop programmes and activities raising road safety awareness.

This cooperation has led to 10,000 young people, aged 12 to 16 from Lima and the provinces, trained in strategies to prevent traffic crashes and promote responsible and respectful behavior on public roads.

The programme, called “Para, reflexiona y actúa por la seguridad vial”, has been launched on November 23 at the Juana Alarco de Dammert school located in the district of Miraflores – Lima.

Training about traffic regulations, risks and dangers on public roads, and the correct use of seatbelts has been provided with the aid of simulators and virtual reality.

TACP General Manager Gabriela Goñi said "we must focus on educating young people, if we want to build a better country where we are all responsible for our actions. That is why we must educate to respect the rules".
