As part of the Medicine in Motor Sport Summit at the FIA Annual General Assembly, the FIA Institute yesterday staged an extrication demonstration at the Ciragan Palace using this year’s double championship-winning Red Bull Racing Formula One car.

Under the direction of FIA extrication expert Jean-Jacques Isserman, a team from Istanbul Circuit performed a full extrication of a driver, showing how to remove him safely and place him in an ambulance.

The demonstration brought the curtain down on the two-day conference on motor sports medicine.
