Meat and Feuillade extend championship leads as FIA European Autocross and Cross Car Championships continue in Musa

04.06.26

The second round of the 2026 FIA European Autocross and Cross Car Championships took place this past weekend at the Mūsa Raceland circuit in Bauska, Latvia, with close competition across all five categories.

The event also marked the opening round of the 2026 FIA Junior Cross Car Championship, adding another title battle to the weekend’s programme. Because apparently four categories were not enough chaos for one circuit.

In Super Buggy, Teun van Asten secured victory for the Netherlands in his Alfa Racing SuperBuggy, taking 31 points from the event. Petr Nikodém finished second for CM Karting s.r.o. in his CM Buggy, scoring 32 points, while France’s Robert Theuil completed the podium in third.

Despite finishing second in Latvia, Nikodém remains at the top of the Super Buggy standings with 62 points, just one point clear of van Asten, while Theuil sits third on 46 points.

In Buggy1600, France’s Malone Feuillade delivered another strong performance to take victory in his Fast & Speed Buggy1600. Germany’s Rene Mandel finished second, with Nathan Ottink of the Netherlands completing the top three.

Feuillade now leads the Buggy1600 championship standings on 66 points, ahead of Mandel on 57 points and Ottink on 48 points.

The Junior Buggy category saw Czech driver Eliska Plna claim victory at Mūsa, finishing ahead of compatriots Ladislav Hanák and Vojtech Lunak. Hanák’s second place was enough to keep him at the head of the championship standings with 66 points, ahead of Plna on 55 points and Tinus Franssen on 50 points.

In Cross Car, France’s David Meat continued his strong start to the season with victory in Latvia. Ivan Pina Chinchilla of Spain finished second, while France’s Vincent Mercier completed the podium.

Meat now leads the overall Cross Car standings on 68 points, with Pina Chinchilla second on 57 points and Luxembourg’s Bob Schanen third on 55 points.

The weekend also saw the first round of the FIA Junior Cross Car Championship, where Greece’s Vasileios Iliopoulos opened his campaign with victory in his LifeLive TN11. Italy’s Bernardo Bitti finished second, with home driver Janis Kozlovskis taking third place for Latvia.

Following the opening round, Iliopoulos leads the Junior Cross Car standings on 34 points, ahead of Bitti on 32 points and Kozlovskis on 27 points.
