INDONESIAN ASN TO REAP LONG-LASTING REWARDS OF FORMULA E’S RETURN
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s return to Indonesia earlier this month for the 12th round of its 2024/25 campaign delivered more than just on-track thrills for fans – just as significantly, it delivered long-lasting benefits for the country’s national sporting authority (ASN).

As has become customary at new venues or those rejoining the calendar following a short absence – the latter being the case for Jakarta International Circuit, which had not hosted the all-electric single-seater series since 2023 – pre-race training was held to make sure the local volunteer marshals were fully up-to-speed and proficient in recovery protocol, and ready, prepared and equipped to deal with any eventuality.
With the proximity of the walls and the famously close-quarters action inherent in Formula E, the recovery of stranded cars plays a vital role, and the marshals’ swift and efficient response to the various incidents that unfolded in the fourth Jakarta E-Prix proved pivotal to the rapid resumption of racing following Full Course Yellow and safety car interventions.
In addition to ensuring that the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s high standards were respected throughout the on-track sessions in Indonesia – resulting in the safe and seamless running of the event – the training also leaves behind a legacy, in encouraging and enabling the domestic ASN to implement the same world-class processes and procedures in its national competitions moving forward.
