Fittipaldi in second place, Siebert third

Schumacher (US Racing) halts Prema Powerteam’s Formula Regional European Championship domination.

The German started in pole and protected his position against Fittipaldi’s attacks during the whole race. Fittipaldi attempted several overtaking manoeuvres, but was unable to pass. The fourth race of the Championship ended with second place for the Brazilian of Prema Powerteam. Behind him, Marcos Siebert, who secured a double podium for the US Racing team with his clean and confident drive.

Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing) had a great race, the first generation racer coming from GP3 closing in on fourth place after defending from Vesti (Prema Powerteam). The Danish attacked his opponent at every corner, even ending up into the gravel as a consequence, but there was no way past and he was forced to settle for fifth place. Behind him, the two drivers of DR Formula by RP Motorsport, Guzman and Fraga, the first of them losing part of his bodywork and having to complete the greater part of the race with the car’s suspension exposed.

Blomqvist (KIC Motorsport) finished 11th, having secured 3 poles with a promising performance on the wet circuit, prior to being relegated two places due to improper driving, a penalty that also beset Igor Fraga. After a long battle with Briton Olli Caldwell, with whom he had a side by side duel, he eventually surrendered the position. German Sophia Floersch (Van Amersfoort Racing), the first of the two women in the championship, finished ninth, while the penultimate placing went to the French Alexandre Bardinon (Mas du Clos), competing in the championship for the first time after being absent at Paul Ricard due to a hand injury. Sharon Scolari (ScoRace Team) completed the placings.
