Robin Frijns leads the way on the second day in Valencia

The second day of pre-season testing for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship sees Envision Virgin Racing on top once again with Robin Frijns setting the pace following his team-mate Sam Bird’s table-topping time from yesterday.

Frijns time of 1:15.377 set during the morning session remained unbeaten in the afternoon. Similar to yesterday BMW i Andretti Motorsport's new driver Maximilian Günther (1:15.434) set the second fastest time of the day. The German driver was followed by his team-mate Alexander Sims, who posted a 1:15.437 lap time. The BMW cars look strong again after they proved to be the fastest during testing last season.

Nissan e.dams’s Oliver Rowland follows in fourth with a time of 1:15.444.

Close behind was Geox Dragon new hire Nico Müller, who topped his teammate Brendon Hartley with a 1:15.515. The New Zealander followed in seventh with a time of 1:15.592 while DS Techeetah's Antonio Felix Da Costa sat between the two teammates with a time of 1:15.557.

The Panasonic Jaguar Racing duo James Calado and Mitch Evans posted the eighth and ninth fastest time with 1:15.624 and 1:15.640 for their best laps respectively, with Calado being one of only five drivers setting their best lap time in the afternoon.

Lucas di Grassi of Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler rounded out the top ten with a 1:15.680.

Today’s sessions were even more competitive than yesterdays, with 21 drivers posting a time all within a second of each other.

Testing will continue on Friday (October 18) with a morning run taking place from 09:00 - 12:00 and an afternoon session between 14:00 - 17:00.
