  • Applications now open for the FIA’s second WIM Mentoring Programme

  • The Federation plans to support 500 mentors and mentees as part of the popular initiative

  • The programme is part of the FIA’s wider efforts to improve opportunities for women in motorsport

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motorsport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, has opened applications for its 2025 Women in Motorsport Mentoring Programme.

Now in its second year, the Programme will connect hundreds of women with established female mentors from across the motorsport industry.

Last year’s programme supported more than 400 successful matches, helping hundreds of women to learn more about opportunities and career development pathways within the motorsport ecosystem. Participants came from more than 69 different countries, with initial feedback indicating a 93% approval rate in mentorship pairings.

As the programme expands the number of participants, the FIA welcomed a supportive message from the UN Women Director for the Policy, Programme, Intergovernmental Division, Sarah E. Hendriks.

FIA Women in Motorsport Commission Chair Burcu Cetinkaya said: “Our Women in Motorsport Mentoring Programme has enabled hundreds of women to connect with each other, share experiences and create new opportunities to learn and develop their careers. I’m so excited to see more women become mentors and mentees, bringing together the brilliant and budding female talent in our industry.”

The FIA is committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive future for motorsport. It has introduced a wide variety of initiatives in support of this goal, including the highly successful FIA Girls on Track programme. Last year alone, the programme welcomed more than 2,700 participants to 27 events held both at FIA events and in partnership with Formula E. This year, the programme has been expanded to other Championships, in collaboration with WEC, WRC, Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, and Formula SAE.

Aspiring mentors or mentees can apply for the programme here. The application window will close on 30th June.
