The FIA has launched an ASN Grassroots Toolkit which is designed to assist our sport club members in organising activity at local level.

The Grassroots Toolkit features guidelines on how to plan and organise simple, affordable and recreational forms of motor sport as part of the FIA’s efforts to restart activities and attract new members in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is envisaged that the Toolkit will nurture participation in motor sport at grassroots level. The Toolkit is designed to enable ASNs to introduce, organise and run a variety of grassroots motor sport disciplines.

Andrew Papadopoulos, the FIA ASN Development Task Force President, said: “We have identified that local clubs have experienced difficulty in organising activities at community level due to the challenges of the global pandemic. We hope that through initiatives like the FIA Grassroots Toolkit we can introduce new disciplines and make it easier for ASNs to organise events and grow participation at the grassroots level.”

The grassroots disciplines that are covered in the Toolkit include touring and navigational events, trials and slaloms, circuit testing and hill climbs.

The Toolkit provides instructional details on vehicle specification for a variety of disciplines, event organisation, facilities and equipment requirements, course layouts, sporting and technical framework and safety guidelines.
