ETRC: Kiss dominates Misano season-opener
Reigning champion Norbert Kiss delivered a dominant performance at Misano, winning all four races of the 2025 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship's opening round, to settle into a comfortable lead in the standings ahead of Jochen Hahn and Steffi Halm

Norbert Kiss made a powerful statement in defence of his Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship crown with a flawless performance at Misano, winning all four races to leave the opening round with a commanding 60 points.
Despite a troubled start to the weekend, missing Saturday’s qualifying due to steering issues in his newly-built MAN truck, the reigning champion fought through the field in Race 1 from 16th on the grid to finish just behind Jochen Hahn. A five-second penalty for Hahn handed Kiss his first win of the season.
The Hungarian driver continued his charge in Race 2, starting from the fourth row of the reverse grid and taking the lead by lap six, a position he would control until the chequered flag.
On Sunday, Kiss converted pole into another commanding win in Race 3, fending off an early attack from Hahn before maintaining a comfortable lead to the finish. He completed the clean sweep in Race 4 after surviving a chaotic restart (following a red flag caused by Antonio Albacete and Luke Garrett coming together on the opening lap), and a dramatic Turn 1 overtake, where he leapt from eighth to fifth.
While Hahn was consistent across the weekend, with three second-place finishes, his Race 1 penalty and lack of a win left him 15 points adrift of Kiss in the championship standings. Steffi Halm’s steady performances, including two podiums, placed her third overall with 37 points.
The championship is set to resume with Round 2 at the Lausitzring on 24–25 May 2025, where the Goodyear FIA ETRC will share the bill with DTM, Germany’s premier racing series.
